Science Experiments

Our focus in science this week was proving whether air takes up space! We had lots of fun using water and balloons to prove our predictions! We learnt that when trying to blow up a ballon that is placed inside a plastic bottle is impossible unless there is a hole so the excess air can escape making room for the balloon! We also placed a plastic cup upside down into a tub of water to see if the cup would fill up. We even placed a paper towel up the top to visually allow us to see whether water got in. Because the air is trapped and takes up space, the paper towel stayed dry!! It was a fun afternoon of science!
