On Wednesday our Year Fives headed to Beenleigh to experience life on the gold fields! We all frocked up in 1850 attire to see how our luck would go finding GOLD. With our 30 shillings (20c) we purchased a permit and dug for gold, built tents, made and ate damper and met a few interesting characters including Terrible Ted, a Bushranger and Miss Peat. Eureka Excursions recreated life on the gold fields perfectly ... even giving the diggers a chance to feel what is was like to be ripped off by the assayers (teachers) once they found gold! A sensational day had by all!

The bushrangers name was Captain Lucas and my favorite part of the day was when we had the chance to experience receiving a license and finding some gold, because it was very exciting being one of the few that found a big piece of gold basically straight away! By Kimberley

ReplyDeletemy favourite part of the excursion was when we panned for gold because I found all the little bits of gold at the top and it was very easy to find.
The bushranger's name is captain Lucas and my favourite part of the day was when we went out and looked for gold. I didn't find any gold I still had fun.
